How to Remove unwanted Icons from Launchpad

  1. Click on the icons you want to remove
  2. Click "Delete Selected Icons"
  3. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Remove groups from Launchpad

  1. Simply Click on the group you want to remove
  2. Click "Delete Selected Icons"
  3. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Rename icons

  1. Click on the name of the icon you want to edit
  2. Enter the new name
  3. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Cut and Paste applications / groups

  1. Select the applications and / or groups you want to cut
  2. Click or the Cut icon or press Cmd-X
  3. Navigate to the Page or Group you want to paste the items into
  4. Click on the Paste icon or press Cmd-V

How to Readd applications

  1. Click on the Available tab on the left
  2. Select the applications you want to readd
  3. Click on Add to launchpad

How to move Icons into a New Group

  1. Select some icons that you want to move into a new group
  2. Click on 'Move Into New Group'
  3. Click "Apply Changes"

How to move Icons out of a Group

  1. Double click on a group to see the contents of it
  2. Select some icons that you want to move out of the group
  3. Click on 'Move out of New Group'
  4. Click "Apply Changes"

How to put all icons into Alphabetical Order

  1. Click on 'Order Alphabetically'
  2. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Clear All icons from a page

  1. Click on "Select All" (it will select all items on the current page)
  2. Click "Delete Selected Icons"
  3. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Navigate to other Launchpad Pages

To navigate Left or Right, you can either:

  • Click on the left/right arrows next to the apps icons
  • Click on the page circles below the app icons

How to reorder Icons

  1. Click and drag icons into the position you want them to be
  2. Click "Apply Changes"

How to Move Icons to Another Page

  1. Select items you'd like to move to another page
  2. Click Move to page
  3. Select the page you'd like to move the items to

How to Save/Restore layouts

  1. Click Save Layout (Cmd+S) to save the current layout to a file
  2. Click Open Layout (Cmd+O) to open a layout file. Please note that it can take up to a few minutes for Launchpad to fully restore the layout.
